June 13, Sophia Loren is coming to Tbilisi, Georgian opera singer Nino Surguladze said at the press-conference held by her charity foundation “Natvris Khe” (Wishing Tree). The representatives of the foundation also say the world-famous Italian actress will meet Georgia’s religious leader, Catholicos-Patriarch, Ilia II as well as the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“Sophia Loren will arrive to Tbilisi on June 13, late at night. The actress was invited by Nino Surguladze, as an honorary guest. She will meet the Prime Minister and the Catholicos-Patriarch. As you may know, on June 15, Nino Surguladze’s charity foundation will hold a world premier
at will be attended by close to 200 foreign journalists. They are coming from London, Italy, Kyiv, Russia and the paparazzi are also coming,” the representatives of Natvris Khe say.
“It is a greatest honor for the Italian ambassador to receive Sophia Loren in Georgia. She is a symbol of beauty and the show scheduled for June 15 is going to be the unity of cinematography, ballet, opera and love. I am very happy that Sophia dedicated herself to such a beautiful deed as helping the children,” said the ambassador of Italy to Georgia.
Nino Surguladze’s charity foundation will organize a concert at the Tbilisi Opera House. On 15, 17 and 18 of June the new play staged by Italian company will be premiered. Among the participants of the play will be Nino Surguladze, Georgia’s legendary ballet dancer Nino Ananiashvili and the company of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater.
On June 15, the play will be attended by Sophia Loren and the orchestra will be directed by her son, Carlo Ponti.
The money raised by the event will be donated to save the lives of children.
